Just Start 02/02/2010

Natalie Whipple posted a wonderful piece the other day, entitled "Just Try." Between Kayla, Merrilee, and Rabia, I got the kick in the pants I needed to just leap in and see where I landed.

Last night, I set a goal to work 10 pages of Lesson 1B on In This Wood. I completed five. I am satisfied. I'm back in the game. I'm learning about characterization and how to use these tools I now have. I'm revising again.

And writing.

Seems opening one door always opens the floodgates. The story for February Fiction (promised legend for Rabia will be integrated) is unwinding itself before me and has been tentatively titled, "Like Little Tongues of Power." I finally get to explore Kett'r a little and learn about Chirrith, a major part of the world of Calindria and why I always knew she didn't sing like the rest of the children at her school in Vas'her. Very excited.

If I find myself facing a daunting challenge or task again, I think I'll just start. It's amazing what can happen.

Awesome!

I'm glad to hear you're back in the game. It inspires me to get a move on, too. This last week has been blech with my husband's mysterious back problems (now fixed) and my left eye (been very irritated, going to the opto in two hours).

Yay, you.
